Partnership with the leading airlines British Airways and Etihad Airways!
AgreementMay 20, 2024The agreements create new prospects for the country's interconnection and further strengthen the tourist product.
SKY express joins forces with two of the largest airlines and further enhances the country's appeal to international visitors throughout the year. Passengers flying with British Airways from the UK and Etihad Airways from Asia, Middle East, Africa and Australia to Athens International Airport will be able to continue their journey to one of the 33 Greek destinations served by SKY express.
Thanks to SKY express's partnership with British Airways, passengers from every part of the UK can visit any Greek destination they choose from among the 33 served by the company. British Airways is the UK's largest airline and one of the world's largest airlines, with more transatlantic flights to Europe than any other airline. In 2023 alone, it carried 43 million passengers who travelled to more than 200 destinations worldwide.
Accordingly, the new strategic interconnection of SKY express with Etihad Airways covers the travel needs of passengers from Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia and strengthens the Greek airline's network around the world. Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, is one of the fastest growing airlines in the world and last year carried 14 million passengers, an increase of 40%.
With SKY express's renewed and modern fleet of 27 aircraft—the newest fleet in Greece—an average age of 1.6 years for ATR 72-600 aircraft and 3.1 years for Airbus neo aircraft and one of the most environmentally friendly fleets in Europe, passengers this summer will have the opportunity to live a unique experience.
"We are very pleased with the conclusion of these strategic partnerships. They demonstrate SKY express's steady upward trajectory in the international market and its reliability. We have 18 collaborations with major global airlines, and the future looks bright. All of us at SKY express aim to strengthen connectivity and demand. Every day, we work to make Greece a sought-after travel destination for passengers worldwide all year round," said Gerasimos Skaltsas, Chief Commercial Officer of SKY express.
