Our first AIRBUS A321neo was officially named by the honourable president of the Republic of Cyprus!

In the context of a special ceremony held at Larnaca "Glafcos Clerides" International Airport, in the presence of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nicos Christodoulides, SKY express with the support of Hermes Airports, fulfilled its commitment to give its first AIRBUS type aircraft A321neo the name "CYPRUS". The naming ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Greece in Cyprus, Mr. Ioannis Papameletiou, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Alexis Vafiadis, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr. Costas Koumis, representatives of Hermes Airports, representatives of Cypriot travel agencies, partners of SKY express, as well as media representatives from Cyprus and Greece.

From behalf of Hermes Airports, the President was welcomed by the Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Eleni Kaloyirou and the Vice Chairman of Hermes Airports BoD, Mr. Iacovos Iacovou.

During his speech, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, referred to the dynamic development of SKY express in recent years and praised its offer, by pointing out that it contributes substantially to the effort of Cyprus and is a vote of confidence for the country. At the same time, he expressed his certainty that the cooperation between Cyprus and SKY express will be strengthened even more in the coming years.

The Chief Executive Officer of Hermes Airports, Mrs. Eleni Kaloyirou said: "The "CYPRUS" aircraft honours both our country and our airport as it will be an ambassador of Cyprus throughout Europe. SKY express, with the continuous strengthening of its fleet, services and itineraries, is consolidating its position in the market, while its investment in our island and its long-term view of the development of tourism is a vote of confidence in the dynamics of the Cypriot product. I hope this aircraft will always have safe journeys."

The event ended with a lunch hosted by Hermes Airports in honor of the guests.
