SKY express honors the Hellenic Air Force Day once again
AnnouncementNov 15, 2024SKY express put on an impressive airshow over Thessaloniki, flying two state-of-the-art aircraft, an A320neo and an ATR 72-600, in honor of the Hellenic Air Force. The airline participated once again in the celebrations in honor of its Patron Saint, Archangel Michael, which took place on Sunday, November 10, in the area of Nea Paralia.
Responding consistently to the invitation of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff and recognizing the work of those who guard the country's airspace, the Greek airline, with the youngest fleet in the country, spread its wings over the Thermaic Gulf with two of its 27 state-of-the-art aircraft. The event was attended by Mr. Ioannis Grylos, owner of SKY express, Mr. Gerasimos Skaltsas, Commercial Director, and other company executives.
The experienced pilots of SKY express, along with the aircraft crews, flew just 150 meters above the sea's surface, reaching speeds over 390 km/h, in perfect coordination with the "Icaruses" of the Hellenic Air Force, offering a unique aerial spectacle that captivated the attention of the attendees in the sky.
During the airshow, the SKY express A320neo took off from Thessaloniki, accompanied by a Phantom F-4 fighter jet. As it passed by, the Airbus captain, Mr. Georgios Tsiopoulos, and the experienced SKY express crew performed an impressive landing gear recycling, greeting the Hellenic Air Force and Thessaloniki in this way. The aircraft then performed a flawless large-bank turn of 45 degrees over the White Tower.
Meanwhile, Mr. Georgios Drosos, captain of the ATR 72-600, flew in formation with an F-16 fighter jet, precisely tracing a straight path towards the White Tower, completing the impressive airshow over Thessaloniki.
